Ciao, sono Valeria!

Hi, I'm Valeria; I'm from Italy, precisely from Sardinia. That is a famous island because it is surrounded by the beautiful sea. My city is Sassari, capital of northern Sardinia, practically the whole of the northern section, and is the largest of the island's provinces.

I have decided to speak of my school because is very different from the Finnish school: the students come in the school at 8:30, they finish at 13:30 or 13:40. We don’t have the possibility of choosing the subject that we want to study, because the subjects are estabilished already. One hour lesson lasts 60 minutes in Monday and in Saturday (in Italy people go to school also in Saturday), and 50 minutes from Tuesday to Friday.

At the end of every hour we don't change classrooms. For one year we hold the same one and we stay always with the same companions. In my school I must study 13 subjects: Italian, mathematics, history, English, sports, art, psychology, sociology, chemistry, pedagogy, philosophy, religion and Latin.

In order to be passed, it is a necessity to have the sufficient in at least 10 subjects. If you have some insufficiency (max 3, you can be passed to the following class, but at the start of the year you must do one exam to demonstrate that you have filled up this debits.

Our classroom consists of at least 23 to maximum of 30 students. At 11 o' clock the bell rings for the beginning of recreation. Then, the students go to the bar (that is inside of the school), or to eat.

The recreation last 20 minutes and the lunch isn’t served at school but everybody eats at home, because in Italy normally the families have lunch at 2 o' clock.

Ciao, sono Valeria e vengo dall' Italia, precisamente dalla Sardegna che e' un isola famosa perche' circondata da un mare bellissimo. La mia citta' si chiama Sassari ed e' la capitale della sardegna settentrionale.

Io ho deciso di parlare della mia scuola, perche' e' molto diversa da quella finlandese: gli studenti entrano tutti a scuola alle 8:30 ed escono alle 13:30 o alle 13:40. Noi non abbiamo la possibilita' di scegliere le materie che vogliamo seguire, perche' a seconda della scuola scelta le materie sono gia' stabilite. Un'ora di lezione dura 60 minuti il lunedi e il sabato (perche' in Italia si va a scuola anche di sabato), e 50 minuti dal martedi al venerdi.

Alla fine di ogni ora noi non cambiamo classe, per tutto l anno teniamo la stessa e stiamo sempre con i medesimi compagni. Nella mia scuola io devo studiare 13 materie: italiano, matematica, storia, inglese, ed.fisica, storia dell'arte, psicologia, sociologia, chimica, pedagogia, filosofia, religione e latino.

Per essere promossi e passare alla classe successiva bisogna avere la sufficienza in almeno 10 materie. Se hai qualche insufficienza (massimo 3), puoi passare alla classe successiva, ma all'inizio dell' anno dovrai fare un esame per dimostrare che hai colmato quel debito. Le classi sono formate da un minimo di 23 persone a un massimo di 30. Alle 11 suona la campana che annuncia l'inizio della ricreazione.

Allora gli studenti vanno al bar (che solitamente e' dentro la scuola), o a mangiare. La ricreazione dura 20 minuti e il pranzo non e' servito a scuola, ma ognuno mangia a casa propria perche' in Italia normalmente  le famiglie pranzano verso le 2.
